Description

This course provides practical guidance, real-world case studies, and partnership-focused strategies to help participants proactively manage incidents, support vulnerable individuals, and foster a culture of accountability within their venues. It equips staff with the knowledge and skills needed to create safer, more inclusive environments and respond effectively to safeguarding concerns. Key areas covered include implementing safeguarding frameworks, improving incident response through local partnerships, and raising awareness around issues such as spiking, knife crime, and violence against women and girls. The course also explores harm reduction approaches, including support for customers using medicinal cannabis, and promotes inclusive, accessible venue practices. Participants will develop skills in welfare engagement, staff wellbeing, emergency first aid, and crisis response, while learning to build strong relationships with local services and safety networks. The course encourages continuous learning through reflective practice and incident reviews, ensuring ongoing improvement in safeguarding standards. By the end of the training, attendees will have the tools and confidence to embed effective safeguarding and welfare strategies into daily operations.
