Description

The Night Safe Champion: Welfare Engagement Officer Training is a practical, culture-driven programme designed to transform how safety and welfare are delivered across the night-time economy.

Through interactive case studies, roleplay, and scenario-based learning rooted in real-life nightlife experiences, participants will develop the confidence and skills to safeguard customers, support colleagues, and drive positive change in their venues.

This training goes far beyond compliance. Champions will learn to identify vulnerability, respond to incidents, apply harm reduction strategies, and embed inclusive practice. By combining legal responsibilities with cultural awareness, participants leave ready to act as trusted guardians of safety and wellbeing in their community.

Objectives

On completion, participants will:

  • Understand safeguarding, welfare, and wellbeing in nightlife.
  • Apply the bystander approach to de-escalation and conflict management.
  • Recognise and respond to harm, risk, and vulnerability.
  • Embed inclusivity and accessibility in practice.
  • Support staff wellbeing and drive continuous improvement.
