Safeguarding Policies Work in Action is a practical training programme that bridges the gap between policy documents and real-world application. Designed for frontline staff, supervisors, and managers, it focuses on embedding accountability, building confidence, and ensuring safeguarding measures are actively upheld in venues.
Participants will explore how safeguarding policies can prevent harm, support vulnerable individuals, and maintain compliance with licensing and legal requirements. Using interactive activities, reflective learning, and real-life scenarios, this course demonstrates how policies must be lived by staff on the ground — from entry checks to incident reporting, from welfare support to proactive prevention.
Learners will gain practical tools such as risk assessment templates, safeguarding logbooks, and the AMO (Ability, Motivation, Opportunity) model to ensure policies are consistently applied and continuously improved. The course emphasises that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and culture change requires policies to be both visible and actionable.
