Description

Emergency First Aid at Work (Level 3 – Catastrophic Bleeding) – RQF – Preparing for the unexpected in late-night environments This accredited course offers hands-on, scenario-based training designed specifically for those working in nightlife and hospitality. Trainees are immersed in realistic emergencies – including knife incidents, acid attacks, and glassing or bottling injuries – that reflect the potential risks faced in late-night premises. Through practical learning, participants will build the confidence to act fast and effectively in high-pressure situations. The course teaches how to assess a scene, deliver life-saving first aid, and manage catastrophic bleeding – all while staying calm and in control within the venue setting. Whether you’re front of house, security, or part of the management team, this training ensures you’re prepared to respond when every second counts.

Objectives

– Understanding the roles and responsibilities of a first aider
– Effective scene management and keeping yourself and others safe
– Carrying out a Primary Survey to identify life-threatening conditions
– Completing a Secondary Survey to spot less obvious injuries
– Managing unresponsive casualties, both breathing and non-breathing
– Safe and effective use of a defibrillator (AED)
– Identifying and responding to different causes of unconsciousness
– Recognising and treating shock
– Dealing with minor injuries confidently
– Placing someone safely in the recovery position
– Managing catastrophic bleeding with appropriate techniques and equipment
